I have enjoyed serving the staffing needs of corporations in Omaha and throughout the upper Midwest for more than 19 years.  I joined Robert Half International in 1988 and was promoted to Director in 1993.  In 1998, I earned their “Chairman’s Club” award for leadership.  In February 2000, I made the decision to “live my dream” and founded Hemphill Search Group, following with Hemphill Staffing Solutions in 2001.  I am proud of our team, the progress we’ve made to date, and I am even more excited about our future growth! 

I understand that a company is only as strong as the players it has on the field.  I am passionate about understanding each client's business, culture, and growth objectives, so we can identify the individuals who will ultimately help our clients achieve their goals.  Our reputation is “on the line” each time we provide a temporary employee, consultant or a new employee for their team.   We take the time to make sure that we have found the "right match" so that each temporary or consultant we send or candidate we place is well positioned for success.  Since excellence always endures and remains long after cost is forgotten, our team is squarely focused on delivering quality solutions the first time.  Because our Firm is built upon a foundation of strong values, I know that taking the “high road” and “doing the right thing” consistently are the cornerstones to lasting business relationships. 

I grew up in Griswold, Iowa, and graduated from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.  During college I was a member of the football team and Students In Free Enterprise.  I remain an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants after serving for more than 10 years on its Board of Directors.  I am an active supporter of FEI (Financial Executives International) and I am a Charter Member of the Nebraska chapter of EO (Entrepreneurs Organization).  As a Director of AAFA (American Association of Finance and Accounting), the oldest and largest alliance of executive search firms specializing in the recruitment and staffing of finance and accounting professionals, I gain exposure to national issues and trends.  I am an energetic member of the Alumni Board of Buena Vista University where I am committed to giving back to the students and leadership team of Buena Vista University.  I am also an active member of my church, where I serve on the drama team.

My wife Susie and I have four children, Cameron, Austin, Miles and Carmel.

Chris has more than 17 years of experience in general management, solution directed customer service and sales management. 

Chris brings a "can do" attitude, a sense of urgency and a passion to deliver unparalleled service to our clients.  Chris has managed and motivated large teams for more than 15 years and understands that the key to success in management is having the right players on the team and having those players in the right position.  It’s Chris’s view that “Upbeat employees with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and the skills to get the job done, will jump right in and add value immediately.”  Chris is serious about understanding our clients' temporary, temporary-to-hire or consulting needs and identifying individuals who can come in, pick up the ball, and run with it.  “When our clients have a temporary, temporary-to-hire or consulting need, they do not have time to worry about individuals who don’t have the skills, attendance or attitude to get it done.  We deliver the right person the first time, and when we do that consistently - - our clients begin to rely upon us exclusively”.   The partnership we share with our clients is built upon trust and results.

Chris earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a minor in Economics from Northwest Missouri State University.  After graduation, Chris was recruited into the management development program of Wal-Mart where he accelerated through their retail store management program.  After extensive training in recruiting and human resources, Chris was tasked with recruiting and training a team of 300 to 400 staff, supervisors and managers per retail center, while opening two new stores in his last four years.  Chris and his wife Amy were ready to get off of the road in 1997, when Chris was hired as General Sales Manager for élan Contemporary Furnishings, a high end retailer.  Chris gained valuable experience while developing new sales systems, expanding the sales team, and developing operational systems and processes to meet the high expectations of their customers.  These enhancements and the team Chris hired, led to élan’s growth to become one of the largest volume contemporary furniture retailers in the nation. Chris joined Hemphill Staffing Solutions in 2005 and loves the fast-paced environment the staffing industry provides. 

Chris grew up in Atlantic, Iowa.  Chris and his wife Amy live in Treynor, Iowa, where they have a busy household with two active sons, Taylor and Tanner.  Amy is a VP of Finance in the Credit Card division of First National Bank of Omaha.  Chris is an outdoorsman who loves fishing, hunting, and coaching his son’s football and basketball teams.

Melissa Benning - Staffing Manager

Melissa is a leader within accounting staffing.  For more than 3 years, Melissa has specialized in delivering high-quality individuals for client companies in the field of accounting, finance, bookkeeping and the clerical levels of accounting with an eye on quality and providing the “right individual -- the first time.”  She takes pride in her ability to partner with financial managers and top executives in order to clearly identify the scope of the project or position to be filled. Melissa’s secret to success is tied directly to her passion to identify the individual who is able to come in and get the job done “right the first time.”  She consistently identifies high-caliber individuals who have the experience to immediately deliver results.

I really enjoy building relationships with both candidates and clients. There is nothing more rewarding than helping both candidates and clients find that “perfect match.” I consider myself lucky to have found an industry and career that allows me to do what I love most, which is meeting and helping others.

Melissa grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and earned her Bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. Prior to moving to Omaha, Melissa worked in the staffing division of a CPA firm where she was awarded President’s Club status for her results, hard work, and dedication in matching high quality accounting and finance professionals with the best positions.

Melissa loves her new home in Omaha and enjoys the outdoors, playing the piano, shopping, traveling, golfing, and taking walks with her two dogs, Champ (a boxer) and Chloe (a bulldog).  Melissa is an avid Green Bay Packers / Brett Farve fan and is beginning to catch “Husker fever.”

Deborah knows that when you focus on the details of ensuring that our clients and candidates receive the right solution, long-lasting business partnerships are formed.  Caring enough to meet with our clients at their offices so she has a clear understanding of our clients' culture, and being proactive to truly understand a candidate’s strengths and career goals are just a couple of the steps Deborah follows to make sure she delivers the right match for our clients and candidates! 

Deborah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wyoming and gained valuable experience within risk management and customer service while working at Kmart Corporation.  Deborah later managed workers' compensation for an Omaha employer with several thousand employees.  Deborah’s passion to help others drew her to a sales role with a large jewelry company prior to joining Hemphill Staffing Solutions. Deborah is motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference for the companies she partners with and the individuals she places into new positions.

Deborah grew up in Riverton, Wyoming where she enjoyed camping, skiing and making lifelong friends.  Deborah, her husband Mike and their two children, Jada and Gage, enjoy camping, biking, and family game nights.

Angela Rogge - Staffing Specialist

Angela brings a rich background with more than 13 years of experience within executive level support, administration, marketing, and project management to Hemphill Staffing Solutions. She plays a key role while focused on research, analysis, database integrity, and selection analytics. In addition, Angela works closely with our candidates throughout the process to ensure that each individual we work with receives the service they deserve.

Angela spent the majority of her career within the financial, and risk management / insurance industries.  She started in customer care, then progressed into human resources, and most recently, provided executive support where her duties included project management, marketing, regulatory compliance, and event planning for a large firm.  Angela also provided executive support to the President and CEO of an international investment banking firm.

She grew up in Weeping Water, Nebraska (population 1,000) and graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln with a degree in Human Services. Angela has two daughters—Abigail who is 10 and two-year-old Pressley.  When she is not spending time with her children, Angela enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to live music, exercising, and relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine.

Beth Sweeney - Director, First Impressions

Beth is in charge of “first impressions” at Hemphill Staffing Solutions. In this role, she ensures that all of our candidates and clients are greeted in a way that they know that we genuinely care.  She also plays a key role on our staffing team while coordinating administration, research, database integrity, and marketing initiatives.  Beth also coordinates all testing and assessment for the firm.

Prior to joining Hemphill Search Group, Beth worked as a Staffing Specialist for a large health care provider. She handled a wide variety of duties including staff scheduling, billing, project management, and database management.  She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Metropolitan Community College where she majored in General Studies.

Beth grew up in Omaha. She and her husband Mike have an energetic daughter Sadie.  Beth enjoys reading historical novels (her favorite is Gone with the Wind), arts and crafts, cooking / baking, going out with friends, and decorating their home.

Dave Reemts - Controller and Business Manager

Dave is a seasoned financial executive who brings a wealth of leadership and experience to our firm.  Dave leads all aspects of accounting and financial management, information technology, procurement, banking, risk management, human resources, and most aspects of our administration.  Dave ensures that the systems, processes, and infrastructure are in place to support our continued growth.

Dave began his career with KPMG, was recruited to Sidles Enterprises as their Chief Accountant, and was promoted to Controller of Midlands Automotive Warehouse, a sister company.   In 1987, Dave joined Byron Reed Company, Inc. and TransEquity, Inc. as their Vice President and Controller and was subsequently appointed to their Board of Directors.  When the businesses were sold in 2003 and the owner retired, Dave accepted a position with Haley Associates as their Director of Acquisitions.  Dave joined Hemphill Search Group, Inc. and Hemphill Staffing Solutions, Inc. in early 2006.

Dave grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa, earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of South Dakota, and served our country with pride as an Officer in the US Army.  Dave enjoys golf and both he and his wife Merrilee enjoy attending sporting events, traveling, home improvement projects, and spending time with their family.

Laura Sykora - Operations Coordinator

Laura has more than 9 years of recruiting and staffing experience, and she has played a key role on the Hemphill Staffing Solutions team for more than 6 years. 

Laura’s upbeat attitude, “how can I help” approach, and passion for customer service has made her a pillar within our Firm's foundation.  Laura plays a key role in helping our recruiters and staffing professionals find the “right candidate for the job” and she works closely with our candidates throughout the search process to ensure they receive the service they deserve.  Laura’s focus is on the core processes that lead us to success including the extensive research that leads us to the right candidates, database integrity and analysis, file management, and background checks.  Laura also plays a leadership role in the administration, marketing, systems management and creative aspects of our firm.

Laura’s recruiting and staffing career began with Sitel Corporation where she interviewed, selected, and hired Customer Service Representatives.  After more than two years with a national staffing firm, Laura brought her experience and passion for excellence to Hemphill Search Group in 2001.

Laura grew up in Orange City, Iowa, graduated from Northwest Iowa Community College and studied human relations at Northwestern College.  Laura and her husband Ed enjoy UNO Maverick hockey, traveling, decorating their new home, and their growing family, which currently consists of a high-energy dog.
